MarineDepot.com Education Center Redesign

We recently redesigned our Education Center and incorporated a bunch of new educational content, helpful tools and opportunities for social interaction.

Forum, blog and article postings are fed via RSS into the Education Center and updated daily so you can easily read the latest aquarium news and commentary.

Our Species Database will teach you how to properly care for popular marine aquarium fish, invertebrate and coral. You can also learn how to acclimate marine animals to ensure they live a long, healthy life.

We are also pleased to announce we've launched some additional features to help you plan and maintain your aquarium.

Our volume calculator will help you determine how much water needs to circulate or how much medicine to dose. The sand bed calculator ensures you'll purchase the right amount of substrate for your desired sand bed depth.

By plugging in the wattage of aquarium equipment—lights, pumps, filters, etc.—our
electrical calculator will reveal how much you're likely to spend on electricity to run your aquarium system. The unit converter should make buying and setting up equipment easier since many aquarium supply manufacturers list product specs in a variety of different units.

We are also excited to share with you our first-ever featured customer tank. We'll be posting more tanks that represent the pinnacle of reefkeeping in the coming months. Our hope is that hobbyists of all levels of experience will benefit from seeing products and practices that work well together. We're already on the hunt for our next featured tank. If you'd like yours to be considered, here's everything you need to know.

Don't forget to reference our aquarium glossary the next time you're stumbling over confusing aquarium jargon. We've also added an aquarium club directory so you can find a club near you.

What other ideas might you have for our Education Center? Please let us know in the comments below!
