The Kessil A350 is here!
We just received our first shipment of the Kessil A350 Dimmable Special Blend LED Aquarium Lights (Tuna Blue), and one of our resident techies has already got his hands on a couple.
All I can say is WOW! The light is modern, compact and sleek. My personal favorite feature is the separate channels (blue and white) which can be used to separately adjust the the intensity of each spectrum. By adjusting the intensity of each channel, you can also adjust the color to your taste. Not blue enough or too white? Not a problem! Your perfect color is just a turn of the dial away.
I snapped a picture of the new light. I can't wait to see how they look on our techie's tank!

Thanks for this info.
ReplyDeleteSo just to be sure I am understanding...2 standard Kessil A350's will be more than sufficient for a tank that is 36" long and no shadowing?
Please advise :) and thanks again
Yes, that is correct. Two A350 (Narrow Angled Lens) would easily cover a 36 inch long aquarium without any shadowing. From our tests, one A350W (Wide Lens) would illuminate a 36 inch long aquarium, but the intensity (PAR) dramatically decreases the further you get away from the center of the light. I hope this helps.
ReplyDeleteQuestion, Is 1 A350 enough for 24" long tank? Thanks
ReplyDeleteOne A350 unit would cover a 24" long tank, but you may have very little shadowing in the corners if you hang it closer to the water (6-8 inches). You can always mount the fixture higher 10-15 inches above the water line to get better coverage.
ReplyDeletehow many of these would you recommend for a standard 48" 75 gallon?
ReplyDeleteWe would recommend two of the A350W (Wide Angled Lens). This light is recommended for aquariums up to 24 inches deep as it will allow you to increase the intensity, which will also increase the brightness.
ReplyDeleteWith the narrow A350 lens, you would also need two units. However for shallow aquariums, you will need to reduce the intensity which will reduce the overall brightness of the aquarium. The narrow lenses are intended for deeper aquariums.
