JBJ Nano Cube LED Aquarium Product Demo

JBJ Aquarium Products recently released updated versions of their best-selling Nano Cube Series that are now equipped with LED lights. In this MarineDepot.com video, we are taking a closer look at the 24-gallon model

Fortunately, if you're looking for a smaller all-in-one style aquarium, the new JBJ Nano Cubes with LED lighting are also available in 6-gallon and 12-gallon sizes.

The 24-gallon variation featured in today's video has 13 x 1.3-watt LED diodes built right into the canopy. Of the 13 LEDs, 8 are 10,000K white and 5 are 20,000K blue. The LEDs can be turned on with the flip of a switch. The canopy is kept cool by 2 integrated fans.

The canopy, previously gray, is now black and includes stay-put hinges and a larger feeding door.

All of the JBJ Nano Cube LED tanks include integrated 3-stage filtration systems. Mechanical, biological and chemical filtration are all represented and the filter media is included. You can swap out the media and replace it with whatever media you see fit. A surface skimmer is also included.

All models come with a water pump as well. The 24-gallon model features a 266 gallon per hour (GPH) pump.

Maxspect Razor R420R LED Light Fixture Product Demo

The Razor R420R LED light is the latest innovation from aquarium supply manufacturer Maxspect. In today's MarineDepot.com video, we're going to take a closer look at this high-performance, high-intensity light.

The Maxspect Razor is available in two sizes: 20.5" (120 watts) and 27" (160 watts). The fixtures are available in two different color spectrums: 10,000K and 16,000K. Maxspect uses high-quality Cree XLamp®, XT-E and XP-E LED chips equipped with 90° optics.

The light has an integrated timer that comes pre-programmed for dawn-to-dusk lighting but is also customizable with 2 channels and time-points so hobbyists can create their own personalized photoperiods.

The Maxspect R420R Lighting has an ingenious aerodynamic design that draws cool air from underneath the fixture, through its body—which also serves as a large heat sink—to dissipate heat passively. The Maxspect Razor LED features two fans that are thermally-triggered to only turn on when they need to, allowing for generally silent operation.

The light comes with adjustable mounting legs but can also be suspended above the tank if you prefer to hang the light. To purchase or learn more about the Maxspect Razor R420R LED light fixture, please visit our website for detailed specs and product reviews.

Special thanks to Ryan Gripp and Jake Adams from Reefbuilders for granting us permission to use their awesome photos in our video. Be sure to check out their detailed blog post on the Maxspect Razor R420R after watching our video.

Marineland Reef Capable LED Light Fixture w/ Integrated Light Timer

The Marineland Reef Capable LED Light System w/ Integrated Light Timer provides the right intensity and spectral output to care for many types of reef aquarium inhabitants.

The high quality 1-watt LEDs produce a natural-looking light with metal halide-like shimmer effects, adding depth and dimension to your aquarium. You can run the white LEDs for daylight and the blue LEDs for lunar light or both at the same time if you'd like to highlight the colorful corals in your tank.

The fixture itself is smaller and sleeker than most LED fixtures currently on the market, which make it an attractive choice if you're looking for a light that doesn't draw a lot of attention to itself and instead puts the focus on your underwater habitat.

In the video embedded above, we're demonstrating how to set the integrated light timer on the fixture. The convenient and customizable timer controls precisely when the 460nm blue and 10,000K white LEDs turn on and off. You can design your own timed sequence to give your tank the right light at the right time.

Marineland added new dispersion lenses over the blue LEDs to provide a better mix of light in your tank. The energy-efficient LEDs don't require regular bulb replacement, like fluorescent and metal halide light fixtures, which will save you a bundle year after year. Marineland estimates the LEDs will last 50,000 hours.

Easily adjustable support legs allow you to adjust the light to fit over a variety of aquarium lengths, so you'll be able transfer the light to a larger tank should you decide to upgrade down the road.

This light is brand-new, so we don't have it available on our website just yet... but it may be in stock as early as this week!
