If you haven’t heard—however unlikely with posts on Reefbuilders, Glassbox Design and OCRD—we are proud to be the first retailer online or otherwise with AquaMaxx’s new-to-market line of protein skimmers.
We’ve got all seven models released in this first wave and will carry an additional four as soon as AquaMaxx gives us the good word. As reported on OCRD, we will also be bringing in some brand-spanking new AquaMaxx calcium and zeo reactors (hopefully) within the next 30 days.
We’ve had the opportunity to play with these skimmers in the office and, in fact, have been test driving an HOB-1 on our breakroom tank—a 28-gallon Nano Cube—for the past couple of months. We are pleased with the results. Easy to setup, easy to maintain and, best of all, it keeps our tank water crystal clear (in conjunction with our usual maintenance routine).
What’s so special about AquaMaxx protein skimmers? I’m glad you asked.
AquaMaxx protein skimmers are computer engineered, precision-cut and made of polished cell-cast acrylic. One of the standout features are the Quick-Adjust Valves that allow you to fine-tune your foam production. Like your foam wet? Just turn the valve. Change your mind? You guessed it: turn the valve.
All models include removable, low-clearance collection cups for easy cleaning and built-in bubble plates to decrease chamber turbulence and improve efficiency. Drain fittings are also included for hobbyists who want to setup a separate reservoir for skimmate.
AquaMaxx skimmers are equipped with reliable Sedra or Sicce skimmers pumps upgraded with special needlewheel impellers to shred incoming bubbles into micro bubbles for optimum performance. In addition to our own 60-day hassle-free return policy, AquaMaxx skimmers carry a 90-day manufacturer warranty and include detailed instructions and diagrams to help aquarists get immediately up and running.
We’re excited to be part of AquaMaxx’s growth and look forward to updating you when the next four models (and reactors) arrive. If you have any questions, leave a comment below or speak to one of our specially trained fish geeks at 1-800-566-FISH.
