Tom Aquatics Aqua-Lifter Dosing Pump Product Demo

In today’s MarineDepot.com video installment we’re going to talk about the Tom Aquatics Aqua-Lifter Dosing Pump.

The Aqua-Lifter Dosing Pump is the most widely used dosing pump in the aquarium hobby because it is inexpensive and has a number of different applications. It’s useful for the daily dosing of aquarium additives/supplements, used in conjunction with an auto top-off system to replenish aquarium water after it evaporates, keeping a constant prime on your overflow box as well as feeding a calcium reactor or denitrator.

Suction Pre-Filter & 25 Feet of Flexible Air Line Tubing

The pump uses ¼” airline tubing which connects to the inlet and outlets ports on the pump. The pump runs on standard 110V electricity for easy connection with aquarium auto top-off systems. The flow rate is slow which makes it easy to monitor for top-off or daily dosing.

The Aqua-Lifter Dosing Pump is very easy to use. The resides outside your aquarium and can be easily mounted with a screw or nail on your aquarium cabinet/stand to reduce pump vibration.

The Tom Aquatics Aqua Lifter Suction Pre-Filter installs inline with the suction side of the pump to help prevent debris from entering the diaphragm.

The inlet and outlet ports on the Aqua-Lifter pump are labeled with two arrows which makes setup a no-brainer. The suction side is connected to the arrow pointing toward the pump. Next, attach the airline tubing to the center port on the pre-filter. Then attach the suction line to the other port on top of the pre-filter. The other end of the line will be inserted into your top-off reservoir or supplement solution. Finally, attach the outlet line to the other port on the Aqua-Lifter that has the arrow pointing away from the pump. That is the line that will be used to dose your aquarium.
