Many reefers will be familiar with two-part dosing to maintain Calcium and Alkalinity, or three-part dosing of KH, Calcium, and Magnesium if dosing the classic Balling Method.

After Balling, you have Balling Light, Triton Method, and maybe use four dosing heads for four liquids, plus some extra bottles to supply your corals with all the minerals and trace elements they need. This works well and our corals have never had it so good.

But All-For-Reef by water chemistry specialists Tropic Marin seems to have turned all the above on its head by combining Calcium, Magnesium, carbonates, and trace elements in not three, not two, but just one, super-easy-to-use bottle.

“All-For-Reef is a highly concentrated solution for the supply of all essential minerals and trace elements in new or moderately stocked reef aquariums.” Tropic Marin states on its website.

“These include Calcium, Magnesium, Strontium, and Carbonate Hardness elements for the growth of calcareous skeletons of stony corals, red coralline algae, and other reef organisms.”

“All-For-Reef contains all these components in a highly concentrated form and also contains the most important trace elements: Iodine, Bromine, Fluorine, Selenium, Molybdenum, and Vanadium.”

Ingredients

But there’s more. Check the ingredients and this all-in-one super doser also contains Barium, Boron, Bromine, Chromium, Cobalt, Copper, Iron, Lithium, Manganese, Nickel, Vanadium and Zinc, yet it won’t affect the Sodium Chloride level, salinity or ion balance.

Many of us thought that was impossible and that so many elements would explode if mixed together in one bottle. Why else would they be sold and dosed separately? But Tropic Marin seems to have done it and made the lives of many a new and seasoned reefkeeper much, much easier.

It does say it’s for new or moderately stocked reef aquariums however so the only downside we’re guessing would be the cost of exclusive All-For-Reef dosing if you have a big tank with wall-to-wall SPS.

But they’ve also just launched it in powder form to be mixed with RO, which should enable greater economies of scale.

The thought of administering this to a small reef tank by way of a single dosing pump is very, very appealing, and worth setting up a tank just to try it out!
